‘Always, in December’

Recommend? Yes!

Always, in December surprised me. I picked it out just by looking at the cover and expected, as you may have guessed, a rom-com. In a way, that’s what I got. There was romance, there was a comedy, and there was a whole lot more, a tenderhearted sorry about missed chances and the unpredictability of life.

After a chance meeting, Josie and Max, both alone for Christmas, form a bond over the holiday in London only for Max to disappear one morning leaving behind nothing but a short, vague note. After that, they weave in and out of one another’s lives over the course of a year. They can’t seem to avoid one another, but they also can’t get their timing right.

As the story goes on, you get drawn deeper into the story and fall in love with Josie and Max as they fall for each other. Sweet and heartbreaking, this is a great read for the lows of wintertime.
